TRICKS AND SKILLS CLASS​  

Does your dog have extra energy and just want to try a new fun class? Join us for some fun in our tricks class. You and your pooch will learn different methods of trick training, some simple tricks and a few more complex ones as well. Trick training is great for building your dog's confidence and also wears them out mentally and teaches them to focus. You will also develop your skills as a trainer and best of all, it's a fun time bonding with your dog! You'll be showing off to your friends in no time!

ADVANCED CGC OBEDIENCE
Build on your Intermediate training skills and help your dog gain even more confidence, responsiveness, self-control and good manners. Your dog should be at an Intermediate level of obedience and will prepare to take the American Kennel Club (AKC) Caine Good Citizen (CGC) Title  We'll work on perfecting handler skills, loose-leash walking, recalls, stays and attention and solve common self control problems.  This class is repeatable and many dogs and owners benefit from continuing the Advanced level classes as adolescent dogs mature. This class helps the handler hone in on obedience skills working toward the AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizenship) test, which is now a title.

AGILITY  See you next Spring

​Agility is one of the fastest growing dog sports in the United States. It is as popular with spectators as it is with the participants. The birth of agility began in England, mirroring horse show jumping. The first demonstration of Agility was in 1978, at the Crufts dog show, in the UK.

Dogs will learn learn obstacles that include ramps, weave poles, jumps, A-frame and tunnels among other obstacles. 

Our Agility classes here at Pawsitive Canine are offered to be a fun experience for you and your dog. They are an extension of our Obedience courses.

RALLY ​​


​​​​​​INTERMEDIATE OBEDIENCE
This is the 'next step' from our BASICS class. You build on your basic training skills taught in our previous entry level classes. We help your dog gain even more confidence, responsiveness, self-control and good manners. Your dog should have had a Puppy or Basic obedience class before or equivalent skills prior to enrolling for this class. We'll work on improving handler skills, loose-leash walking, recalls, stays and attention and solve common self control problems.  This class is repeatable and many dogs and owners benefit from continuing the Intermediate level classes as adolescent dogs mature. INTRO TO RALLY OBEDIENCE

Rally is a new fast growing obedience sport and a great activity where family dogs and aspiring dog athletes can show off their obedience skills. Take your training skills and teamwork to the next level and learn to maneuver through a Novice level course, performing 12-15 different obedience exercises along the way. It's fast, challenging and fun! This class is taught indoors or outdoors -weather permitting. Dogs must have completed an Intermediate class or have had equivalent skills and be able to walk on 'loose leash'.

Beginning Agility (Agility for Fun) See you next Spring

Dog should have at least an Basic level of Obedience.  This class begins with focus on learning solid foundation skills which are important.  Foundation work includes working on the recall, solid stays, shadow handling, beginning criteria for contacts and obstacle introduction sutiable for the beginner agility level.  All dogs must not show any agression toward other dogs or people in order to join class.  Dogs must be able to handle high energy class with fast moving dogs.  We reserve the right to meet dogs far in advance of the class if behavior in class might be questionable.

ADVANCED RALLY OBEDIENCE


Go off lead in Rally, learn new exercises and build your teamwork. This class is for dogs and handlers who have taken our Intro to Rally or who have Rally Novice/Level 1 ring experience.
Exercises for Advanced and Excellent will be taught. To take a peek at an actual trial, click on our Pawsitive Members link:  Will be exploring both UKC and AKC venues.

PUPPY S.T.A.R. OBEDIENCE

Start your puppy out right with the correct exercises.  The American Kennel Club (AKC) has it's S.T.A.R. PUPPY fun and games that teach important skills class.  Designed for puppies up to and including 5 months old.  This class covers socialization, dealing with 'Puppy Brain', different stages your pup will encounter, confidence building, household manners and beginning obedience skills.  We will go over "sit", "down", "stay", "leave it" and start the process of walking on a loose leash.  We will also work on manners such as not jumping or being mouthy.  Puppies must have received at least their first set of four Puppy shots, Bordetella (a.k.a. Kennel Cough) vaccine and a negative Fecal Float (check poo for parasites).  The minimum number of students is three and the maximum number of students for each class is seven.  Fecal sample results from veterinary clinic needs to be done asap to show clear from parasites.

BASIC OBEDIENCE
Learn how to teach essential obedience  (sit, down, stay, walk on a loose leash, among others) and self-control skills to your dog and to solve common household behavior problems with reward based techniques.  Designed for owner's dogs that have never been trained formally, that have never trained with you (new owner), the next step from our Puppy class or that need a refresher course to prepare for advanced classes and sports classes.   Recommended age for dogs in class is six months and up.
